Charlie Herf's daughter Allison is going thru some really rough cancer treatments. If you can help with donations or prayers they would be very grateful. Here is the latest update from Charlie..

Greetings. Allison said she would update the site this week but has been exhausted., i want to thank you all for your emails inquiring about Allison and asking what is coming up next.. Allison's surgery Saturday, July 14th, was necessary to surgically put her ostomy back inside her body... after 5 grueling hours in the E R @ UCSD that Friday night, it was determined that they could not do it manually ..she was in excruciating pain, even several injections of Deladid didn't come close to giving her relief, this was the first time she and i cried.. we have all tried to remain as strong for her as possible in front of her.. but, this 3rd visit to the E R for the prolapsed ostomy was just too much even for our STRONG Allie !!! so, finally at 4:45a.m. they placed her in a room to prep her for early surgery that Saturday a.m. North Park to take care of her Then 4 horrible days of insufficient pain meds ensued.. at one point she asked to be taken to the E R recovery room where she could get the relief she needed.. FINALLY, when she was released on Tuesday night, her surgeon had gotten through to the "hospital" Dr. and she got the meds she needed...we visited with her palliative care group that next day and they were very upset when they heard the whole day by day hospital fiasco ..and this is at the JACOB CENTER....a TOP spot... so to fast forward to what is coming next.. Allie is recuperating , resting, trying to eat solid foods and get ready for her next BIG surgery scheduled for August 7th.. if another surgery time "opens" up or IF ( and hopefully not, her ostomy prolapses for a 4th time), she will go in sooner.. at this next surgery they will remove any tumors in her colon and rectum area not obliterated by the chemos and radiation, removal of her ovaries and tubes, HOPEFULLY, re-connect the ostomy and then her surgeon will do an illiostomy just above her small intestine on her right side which will, hopefully, be re- connected in a couple of months when the liver surgeon will go in and remove any tumors on her liver..so, all sounds easy ...right ? WOULDN'T that be nice if it were as easy as it sounds !! but, we keep hopeful and positive that after a year or more, Allie will slowly be able to resume a life of occasional scans, scopes, and the possibility of a 3 month chemo pill regimen might be needed, we just pray each day that she will survive ALL of these future hurdles, no one deserves cancer and the fight she has had to do every day and we marvel at her stamina even when we watch her fall asleep mid sentence.... THANK YOU so very much for your prayers and thoughtful personal notes to Allie and THANK YOU, also, for your very kind and generous monetary donations...fighting cancer is an expensive business and we are so thankful for the gofundme Allison Herf link, it has helped relieve about 1/4 of her expenses of these past 9 months, so WE ALL THANK YOU !!! the gofundme allison herf can be accessed by going to Google and typing gofundme allison herf OR, i know some of you have preferred to write to her at her home and include a donation, they is great too, and a nice "surprise" in her mailbox.. her address is Allison Herf 3429 Ray Street, San Diego, Ca., 92104-4232... there really are NO WORDS sufficient to express our THANK YOU to all OF YOU !!! YOUR CARING CONCERN IS APPRECIATED BEYOND WORDS,
Charlie
