Reeder Custom Guns - USS Alabama

That is the USS Alabama in Mobile bay. The 20mm were very effective anti-aircraft guns. Much better than a 50 cal. My dad flew P40's and P51's in WWII. He was shot down in a Chinese river bottom by a 7.7mm machine gun when strafing a sanpan. He sunk the sanpan, but had to bail out and walk 5 days back to base. The jet fighters today still use 20mm's. They are gatlin guns, not single barrel guns.
