a "modernized" Vaquero just finished for Eric Cromwell

according to whether the gun was blue or stainless. On that gun it was stainless, so no reblue needed. He furnished the sights so no charge for sights. We did have a few hours on the mill cutting a flat ledge for the rear sight, then a couple of holes had to be drilled. A long flat had to be milled in the top of the frame for the leg of the rear sight. The front also had to have some milling to get it ready for the front sight. So a job like that with the customer furnishing the sights would run from $250 to $300.

We have done several om blue Vaqueros where we fit the S&W rear sight to it and a new front sight. That took a lot more work and a full reblue plus the price of the sights. That job ran around $750 to $800. Here is one on a blue Vaquero that started out like this...and the screws that are shown were replaced with new screws before the gun was reblued and before the gun went out the door

One other sight we do on fixed sight revolvers is an adjustable rear that we build ourselves. We have done quite a few of these on fixed sight S&Ws. It entails milling a flat on the rear of the frame, undercutting it and building a sliding rear sight and fit that in. It gives you a lot of left and right adjustment but no up and down. It is $250.

here is one we did on a Bearcat. You can see the sight cut and the new sight added in..the pictures are as the gun was in progress and it was obviously cleaned up and polished before the gun went out. The sight was left satin finished so no glare.
