and will still do for most things. It is one of the easiest centerfire rifle cartridges to reload and there are a huge number of bullets available.
If one is set on changing it the Improved 30-30 is a simple upgrade and standard ammo can still be shot in it.
There are a number of wildcats based on the 30-30 and the Misfits and Gary have quote a bit of knowledge and experiance with them.
For me the old cartridge works just fine as it is ... especially with some of the new bullets and powders available. But that is me.
