Reeder Custom Guns - Another beater HP? I bought an FM Detective

last winter for a beater Hi Power and I like it (but of course I like my Reeder Ultimate Hi Power better!). Just fondled a pristine later model full size FM Hi Power for $325. I've recently started thinking about a nice 6" model 19, 27, or 586, but now this El Cheapo HP has me off on a tangent. Thoughts?

the 586. Make sure it has the M on the crane to show it has had the recall modification done to it. I love mine. It has one of the smoothest trigger pulls of any double action that I have. It does have one drawback, if you get the action smoothed out for double action pull the single action pull is very (VERY) light to the point I never use it as a quick touch to the trigger will set it off. I may end up sending to Gary to have him look at as the gunsmith that did the recall also did the action job and I think he went too far. If I am able I may just go to the HHC and take it to him then. If you are there you can shoot it.

Silkiest is a 625 that's been worked on- but like you, the SA pull is way lighter than I like.

It seems like even HP clone prices have risen dramatically (along with the real HPs) in the last couple of years. I've never shot an FM but I've never heard anybody say anything but good things about them. I have a Bulgarian Arcus 94 that I like fine and got for $200 . . . 20 years ago.

I really regret not picking up a plain Jane blued Mark III in .40 S&W when they were going for cheap a few years back. No mas.
