Has anyone tried this powder in the 30 GNR? It's supposed to add 100-200 FPS to the 30-30. Just wondered if it would do the same to the 30 GNR.....
Not sure about the shorter barreled handguns

But it's worth a try. They have come out with so many varied powders lately. Back years ago it was rare for a new powder to be released.
I think the .30 GNR is well served by the slower side of "Medium" rate burn powders. Even though it is less efficient many times the slower powders will give higher speeds and even lower pressure. I need to get to testing ours. Roman got a .30 GNR barrel from Gary at HHC and we made him a hunting rig, the boy is set now. I just threw together a quick load using a 150 gr. at around 2400 fps but that is still good from a 13" barreled handgun!
I’m loading for a Marlin Lever action

My goal is to make 200 FPS more than a standard 30-30. I know the GNR should do that but more would be better! We have some BIG hogs here in Arkansas! I’m thinking a 170 at 2400 would be great ballistics from my light weight carbine.
ypu shouldn't have any trouble getting that

The 30 GNR will do right at 2800 with a 125, well over 2700 with a 135 and right at 2500 with a 150 and that is out of a handgun barrel. In the rifle you should be able to add at least 250 to 300 fps to those figures.
