Reeder Custom Guns - Incident At The Local Bass Pro

A guy walked into Bass Pro a couple of nights ago around 7 PM, went to the gun counter and asked to see a gun, the guy behind the counter checked the chamber and hands the man the gun. The guy promptly takes the gun, turns his back to the counter, loads the gun and proceeded to put it in his mouth and pull the trigger. I have no idea how this happened as last time I looked at a gun at BP they all had
trigger locks on them, granted, they are easily removable if you have the generic, one key fits all locks key. I don't know if that was the case though. I'm guessing the policy may change in light of this tragedy.

I am at that Bass Pro every Thursday night from about 6 to whenever we decide to leave. I meet 3 or 4 other guys there and we tie trout flies and solve all the world's problems. It's my therapy and social media for the week.

Franchised shporting goods store. Have to agree with Gary. Other than the franchises I don’t see any LGS using trigger locks, I dislike handling potential purchases with a lock on.

Several years ago a guy walked into a LGS here in Fort Worth
and asked to see a pistol. The man behind the counter, who we
called Pop was 90+ at the time. When the guy started loading the gun Pop retreated to his 2 loaded revolvers he kept behind the counter. A S&W 38 special and a S&W in 38S&W as I recall.
He came up shooting with both hands and the perp ran around the store ducking and dodging. When he reached the far side, Pop put 1 round barely to his right, 1 barely to his left and
one right above his head. As he turned to go out the door he shot the sunglasses out of his shirt pocket. I like to think he gave up a life of crime.
