Based on feedback here I went on a scouting trip for a couple of used 357's. Found this 15-2, really didn't want Nickel plated but at $450 I figured I could live with it. Now to find a 6" GP 100

And the butt has the N stamp. No pits or flecks in the plating. The lady who traded it in said her husband who was a State Trooper bought it for her to carry in her purse back in the 80's but it was too big and heavy so she kept it in her night stand. She supposedly shot 12 rounds through it and the original grips were too big so her husband put the Pachmayr grip on for her and she ran 12 more rounds through it to get it sighted in then put it away. Gonna use it for my hiking/camping gun and get a GP 100 or Redhawk for hot loads.
the S&W M-15 is a great gun, just don't run the

real hot 38 special loads thru it that you would run thru the GP-100. It is listed as a 38 Special +P but the +P loads back in the early 80s are completely different from the +P loads today.
My bad it is a 19-5, not 15-5

thru it that you would the GP-100. It is a great gun but not the beef of the GP-100.
Got it, I may just look for a donor
