chamber, custom barrel, etc. Hope I have the right person! ;)

Have a question: I acquired an older Colt "Peacemaker" 22LR/22M convertible "unfired". Beautiful "virgin" SA with a 6" barrel, CCH frame, eagle and colt embossed black plastic grips, etc. Finally shot it yesterday, both cylinders (I don't believe in "unfired firearms"). The 22LR was fine after it settled down, got dirty, whatever...but the 22M cylinder stayed agitated, and wouldn't group, within reason. I was at an indoor range shooting at 21ft.

My memory went back to your father's creation having the single 22M chamber. So, finally, the question: Is the caliber of the 22M slightly larger? Causing it to shave copper/lead when it reaches the 22LR barrel throat?

I know that other factors come into play, but my experience with "convertible" revolvers hasn't always been the best.

Any wisdom on the subject that you or others can offer would be appreciated.
