have you looked into offering an "alloy" framed 1911 platform? We used some reportedly aftermarket frames back in the 1980's and some cracked at the safety lever hole. We had one come through, still shot but it was cracked. (ditto old alloy P-38 frames at the slide release lever square hole -FWIW) I had a .45 Govt. so made and I loved it, half a pound lighter. It had no problems, but I actually carried it more than I shot it. The name "Federal Ordinance" rings a bell, maybe they marketed the aluminum frames back then builders used?

I'd be interested in a commander sized alloy 9mm, possibly. Also I read something a while back about race guns shooting 9X21,23 (or something like that) which was nothing but the .38 Super with no rim and the guns would run both. Is the .38 Super reliable compared to say 9mm in the 1911 single stack platform. I note most race guns are double stack and hold like 20 rounds! Not what I would be interested in.
