gentleman as anyone I have known. A rowdy gentleman but still... He and Jerry Reed were in Nashville to film a pilot for a TV series and I got to meet them then. They had a big party to promote the series (that never panned out for some reason). but they were both constantly laughing and having fun, never bitching about anything, just enjoying life. Burt's divorce to Loni Anderson about killed him. She got everything including a big chunk of what he made from then on. The last time I talked to him was maybe 10 years ago and he was sitting in his house in Jupitor Florida hoping someone would call and offer him a part in a movie. A damn sad situation.
one correction here. I didn't talk to him 10 years or so ago

He was one of the greats no doubt, never seemed Hollywood at all. Entertained a lot of folks for years, Stick was probably my favorite but he had a lot of good movies. He even carried an Auto Mag in Malone!
Durn Gary. We gotta tell people to quit doing this.
