Do they measure from the front of the cylinder or front of the frame? Would a aim point tube red dot pass as a scope?

end of the cylinder. And they say scope, so it needs to be a scope. A red dot is useless in Africa. You will have to take shots that a red dot is not capable of and at a longer range like 75 yards where a scope is a good choice, a red dot is useless. plus the red dot depends upon a battery so why take a chance. And why risk a $10,000 African safari trying to bypass the rules.
