buffalo came out of the brush at about 85 yards, John, my PH said to wait, that the buff would come to about 60 yards and stop and paw the ground and huff at us trying to scare us off. John said the buff would turn to either the left of right and when he did for me to bust him on the point of shoulder. He turned to his right, and when he did I hit him on the point of shoulder with the 500 grain soft point. He dropped at the shot. He struggled to get back up and I hit him on the other shoulder and he was down for the count.
The bullet hole is visible on the upper point of shoulder. It looks like it was a neck shot but I was in front of him and the bullet hit there to go in and break the shoulder. That was the first shot. You can tell by the angle of the hole it was taken from the right front. The second one is on the opposite side.
