First .450 GNR assemblage. Not really feeling it

Do you have to abrade or sand off the bluing on the base and batrel for the epoxy to adhere?

next year in Alaska and more than likely (at least for now) I would be carrying the same 450 GNR I used on the Cape Buffalo and my 510 GNR revolver on my hip. I talked to friend and guide George Faerber this morning about it and he said the Grizzlys are getting bigger and less and less afraid of man. He said the way to call them in was to shoot up in the air and sit back and wait. They hear the shot and think a hunter has taken an animal and the bear comes running to take it away from the hunter. He said he has taken a couple of big Grizzlys out of the same ground blind I sat in a couple of years back when I ended up dancing with Herman the dancing bear. That was a big Black Bear that I shot at kissing distance.

He said the Grizzlys are so abundant and a strong danger to humans in Alaska that they changed the law from one Grizzly every 4 years to one a year.

A big Cape Buffalo was one of 2 animals on my bucket list. I got the Cape this past spring

and a big Grizzly or brown bear with a handgun is the other on my bucket list. I took the Cape with the 450 GNR Encore and would like to take the grizzly with a revolver. The grizzly or Brown are tuff animals to put down with a revolver or any handgun but it can be done. Here is a Grizzly that Anthony Ransom took with a revolver a while back.

Both Anthony and Shawn will be on our next Africa Hunt next April.

Right now I am just talking to George, nothing firm yet. He has had some health problems with cancer so he is thinking of retiring but may do one more Grizzly hunt. We will see. George is a good friend and a handgun hunter and I would not want to hunt a Grizzly or brown with anyone else.
