Reeder Custom Guns - Stuff From Today

I cast about 1500 bullets ... 43 pounds of them. Got about 400 rounds loaded today.

Ran across my old Long-Range 45 Colt bullet. Used in the Ruger Blackhawk. It is the old Lyman 457191 300 gr. 45-90 rifle bullet. Sized down to .452" and crimped into the top grease groove. I normally loaded these around 1100 fps. Shot quite a bit of game with it. Extremely accurate at long range. John Taffin was with me when I shot some through the front wall of an old cabin better than a quarter mile away,

Some of my experimental 30-30 loads using the 125 gr. Speer AK47 bullet. Still testing these. Single load them in the Model 94 Trapper.

hate the sizing one at a time.

I like most of the tasks involved in reloading, but sizing and lubing cast bullets is the pits - most miserable job in reloading ammo. I hate it.

The Star resizer has been around forever and the company was bought out by Magma in 2014. I have used it since the early 70's. You just feed one bullet on top of the one in the sizer to push the bullet out the bottom and resize another bullet.

Star also built other reloading equipment like progressive reloading presses.

sizing is not a big deal. I do wish II had bought Star-- but I didn't, I got my 450 in 75-- I do use Lee tumble bullets some.. and powder coating

WHERE IT WAS WELDED TOGETHER AND TOOK IT APART. SO MUCH FOR COL. ASKINS SAYING HE WOULD STAND AT 600 YARDS AND CATCH ELMER'S BULLETS WITH A CATCHER'S MITT.

Sizing & Lubing

Use a Star Resizer for an easier job

I use the time sizing and lubing to meditate

Since i size one at a time, as well as charger and seat

I WELL REMEMBER THAT DAY. I WAS

Most everything went through the front wall

AND I REMEMBER ONE HIT THE OLD BEDSTEAD

Yep. It was one of my 300 gr. 45's.
