handgun with them in the basket sitting atop an elephant. Quite often a Tiger would attack the men in the basket and they would attempt to get the Tiger off the elephant and off them with their large bore handgun called a Howdah.

Lee Jurras was the first man in modern history to build Howdah handguns, back in the mid 70s. They were based on the Contender and in 6 large calibers that Lee had developed. Lee was the man that helped get me into the custom gun business many years ago. He died a bit over a year ago of cancer but before he died he asked me to bring back a series of special guns he had out 40 or more years ago. That series was his Howdah. So we are bringing back the Howdah single shot pistol based on the Contender and Encore in large calibers. And even though it is not a large caliber Lee also asked me to include the 356 GNR as that was his favorite cartridge in the years before his death.

We are also bringing out a big bore revolver we call the Howdah revolver. It is built completely by us on my own frame, barrel and cylinder. It also is being made in large calibers. You can see more about these guns on the front page of this web site.
