Blake showed me some tricks, whomever he had been conspiring with, Kase some?! Kase is really sharp on the autos of any kind. Anyway, he prompted me to go some extra measures since we do more technical loading than most. (hopefully not read - foolhearted)

I personally tested the max capabilities of the swinging link 1911 enough to give myself some caution. Magnifying my limited knowledge. It's a more complex machine that one might first think. But sticking to "factory" .45 Super level loads it will last a long time. For some really advanced tinkering we have gone to more complex recoil spring systems (this 1911 actually has that consideration), extended throating in the barrels, and expansion chamber brakes. Most don't need these things but it is necessary to keep from blowing yourself up at levels beyond. Exactly where a normal person should not be. FWIW we have tinkered with the .460 Rowland (even higher pressures) and found the longer case really problematic in reliability. What good is it if it's too picky and unreliable? The Rowland needs ramp work to feed best and specific bullet shapes, but also needs minimal case head exposure for pressures - a catch 22 situation.

The .45 Super is great and trouble free, easy to live with. Enjoy that beautiful and capable custom, stick to credible published loads and have fun.
