If you insist on using a 357 Mag, use Swift 180 factory load at 1363fps for 742ft/lbs. Or if you reload use the same bullet with new brass and 13.7gr. H-110 for 1433fps. I have killed 2 black bears. One with 44mag revolver and one with 416 Taylor. I own 3 357's. I would NEVER consider one for bear hunting.
