Very lucky to take mule in northern New Mexico... Used JT handload of 210gr Swift and large dose of #9 in FA`s m-83 topped with Burris 2-7X. Clocked a five shot average of 1674fps.. Shot the western diamondback with 250gr partition over 21.5grs of IMR-4227 near den...A lion came into the area that night and all the deer disappeared....
Nice work James!

Oddly enough, here in Arkansas it is illegal to kill a snake

ANY snake or critter not regulated seasonally by the Game & Fish. There is a provision if it's on your property. Sort of sketchy actually, but if a Game officer wanted to be a big a-hole you'd have some trouble. If one looks into the matter they have a scary amount of authority either by accident or concealed purpose. They can basically can make provision to come into your home at any time without a warrant.
Nice going James! I've eaten snake and it is actually quite good. I'd sure not want to let that skin go to waste, I know Amede would love to have it! I'm keeping a keen eye to get him some snake skins.
That would be a good one

Another misfit is drying a skin at this time. If for some reason no one else wants it, I can use it. Slit it up the belly, skin it, then thumb tack it to a piece of cardboard to dry.
Illegal but widely ignored

a nice day, sun shining, no clouds in the sky, in October. Hell you should be out there in shorts and a T shirt. Had to be in the mid 80s or that snake wouldn't have been out. You are from New Fuggin'Jersey. You should be used to a little chill in the air.
James That’s friggen awesome!
