Of big critters,bison buffalo and such. What do you use as a hanger for a Sheetrock wall between the studs?

like a bison or bull elk. I made up a special hanger that is just a hook from a hardware store and a 4" X 8" piece of steel and screw that to a stud.

It holds up big critters with no problem.

many years ago the TV commercial for Hercules hooks said they will hold weight...Used it to hang European Shiras moose and it came down on my Mom... She was OK and had to glue up skull... Now, like Gary, mount to studs,,,, Wanted to hang TV announcer

Cut a hole in the wall about an inch smaller in diameter than your mount. Place in the open space between the studs a 2x4 cut on each end at 45 degrees.Screw the 2x4 in place with the center where you want to want the mount. I've used lag screws to hang moose, elk and multiple deer. Should work for you. SHEETROCK WILL FAIL. Hope this helps.
