In a 4 inch barrel what would you consider the optimum as far as bullet weight and velocity? Esp for the "Alaskan" or "Yellowstone" carry mentioned earlier? Thanks!

280 gr bullets @ standard 45 colt pressures. Not much need for 4 legged critter protection in the Land of Lincoln.
