I don’t know...thinkn this needs a red dot ...

The flexy frame causes issues. I chose one of the very best "frame mount" options. It was an aluminum tunnel type that used two pin mounting points. Upon firing the scope and mount tries to stay in position as the gun recoils underneath. The mounting points begin to transfer recoil forces to the gun as it moves in recoil.

Had I stayed with 9mm it probably would have been fine. Never one to leave well enough alone I was testing hot 10mm/230 gr. and even .45 Super-duper with up to 300 gr. at 900 fps. I bent one of the upper front mounting through pins the mount supplier furnished. It was NEVER intended to endure that much inertia. I lamented it was not hardened enough but in retrospect that's probably what kept it from breaking. Not wanting to "modify" the gun the design limits were found. The bent pin allowed the mount to move under recoil, flexing with the frame/rubbing the slide on the mount. Surprisingly it snapped back into position with the rubbery frame and stayed sighted in, showing no further signs of bending. But I knew it was fatiguing the plastic frame in an unusual manner and destined to fail prematurely, had I continued in an extended manner.

The Glock "large" platform is astonishing. With minimal modifications it will shoot 4 MOA (2" groups at 50 yds.). Even in my sweaty little girlish mitts. I was really shocked. It truly validates the "Dot" type lightweight slide mounting sights that Gary installs. Given the 700-800 fpe custom ammo and good hunting woods range available it sure is a viable tool. It's so much easier putting a dot on something that aligning partridge sights to hit a moving target at 50-75 yds.

The photo shows a 33 yd. target grouping, (even a wild flier to prove I'm not lying) shooting some custom .45 caliber 200 gr. SWCGC at 1400 fps. The trigger, even modified, is a unique discipline that requires much practice. An unmodified "Wolf" 10mm barrel showed about the same accuracy potential with custom ammo as this special long throat .45.

Academic presidencies take some time. I expect that I’ll find out if they are interested in me before Christmas.
