I read where Sierra is discontinuing several bullets
including one my .257 Raptor and .257 Falcon really likes. In addition to a price increase. Any inside industry information Gary (or other misfits)?
Sierra is revamping their bullet line to go better
with all the hyper long range stuff and bullets with an extremely high ballistic coefficient. I guess they figure their old customers are dying off and they better get with the new stuff.

to stay in business you have to make a profit.
Several years ago BMW decided to stop selling the flat twin boxer motorcycle that brought the company from 1921 to 1980 or so. They made the "flying brick" inline bikes to phase the old beast out. It flopped horrendously. Since 1999 the motorcycle division has been absorbed by the automotive division, development and marketing. But NOW since all the old socks and sandal wearing professor biker types are dying off and it's the techy artsty rich boys buying $25k bikes, it's time to finally drive a stake in it's heart. The old pushrod aircooled boxer is certainly dead forever. A good lesson in product run and development. The old ones now enjoy and have a cult following.
Guns and products are like that too. Soon all those pristine Colts in Florida will be on the market.

Does yours have the big touring gas tank?
I had one when I was stationed in Germany back in the 70's. Got from a couple of brothers who raced them and they bought two just for touring. It was a sweet ride. Always started on the first kick, wi ter or summer! The only issue I ever had was the drive shaft bolts in the rear hub worked loose one time.

Out in Willimina Oregon and I stopped in a BMW shop in Findlay , Ohio and they had a 7.3 gallon tank. They sapped it right there and then. I miss that bike. Good memory thanks for asking. Andy

But I guess I'm a closet freak too. This is my 72' R75/5 SWB "Toaster" small tank. It has R80 pistons in it, 32mm CV Bings. Runs plenty strong for an old 4-speed /5.
If Gary rode bikes, this is the one. Or maybe a choice Indian. I bought the bags/SWB mounts from a guy in Alaska. He bailed on the old boxer for the rough roads and is sticking to his big KTM.
