hunter in 250 Savage. It is light, easily portable, nicely built with deep bluing and classic wood styling. A very enjoyable and effective cartridge and rifle combination. No deer has walked away from it. I seem to be gravitating to many of the older cartridges. Over the years I got caught up in a bunch of the new chambering but they don’t really offer much practical performance improvement, in my big woods hunting arena. Went to a few stores just looking today and the bulk of the rifles on the shelves just don’t have much character. They may shoot fine groups but they just look and feel unrefined. I like wood, nice bluing and smooth actions. Just feel good to hunt with and admire.
