Here are couple of pics of the blued black powder American Classics in 475 and 50 caliber and also a two toned gun plus a color cased gun.

The old original black powder revolvers were later converted to a very low powered 45 long colt and the new ones have a conversion cylinder, usually in either 45 long colt or 38 Special. But those guns are totally different from the Old Army. The gun is basically a Ruger old model so the internals would have to be changed, plus the hammer plus a new barrel and the ejector system would have to be added with the new ejector, spring and housing fit. That would be problematic as there is no ejector rod hump on the side of the frame. Not sure about the hardening as most black powder revolvers are not hardened to handle any high pressure. So it might have to be sent off to be hardened. Even if all this worked, you would still be limited to a standard size cartridge. The 445 would be way too long for this frame. So if you have a gun and about $3500 we might be able to make it work....in about 3 years.

Hornady makes .480 caliber round balls and .475 caliber lead bullets are also available. The 50 caliber is good if you have access to .515 or so round balls.
