of estates down in Florida and it seemed every old gentleman had a Colt Police Positive, Official Police, Army Special and any other old Colt from the early to mid 1900s and most were in worn but serviceable shape. There was no market for them as they were everywhere back then. Kase was 13 or 14 and working for me in the shop and one of his heroes was Fitz. So when we would get an old Colt in he would grab it and go back in the shop and start grinding and chopping on it. He must have made a couple dozen of the Fitz specials in a 2 or 3 year period. We would blue them, make a set of grips for them and put them in the showcase and they would sell. Nobody wanted the gun the way it came in but they wanted them as Kase's version of the Fitz Special.
