A few pics of TLAs I own, or used to own...

South Texas Army. I think Boge Quinn owns this one, now. Stocks are pecan. It also had a set of elk stag stocks. It was a beautiful piece. I sold it to buy another TLA for my book research.

Not a TLA, but one of Bill Grover's guns. Second Gen Colt New Frontier in .44 Special, engraved by Horacio Acevedo with carved ivory stocks. Stocks have sterling silver caps. This was Bill's "Number Five" before he made his own Number Five. He was on the quest for the perfect sixgun from his teens and this was an early attempt. And, what a grand attempt it was!

Grover corresponded with Elmer Keith from his early twenties, if not his teen years. This is the inscription in Grover's heavily worn copy of SIXGUNS. I took this copy of SIXGUNS on one of my research trips to Texas. When I showed it to Keith DeHart (a man without whom I doubt Texas Longhorn Arms would have gotten off the ground), he chastised me for bringing it on the trip where it could be lost or damaged. Keith is a talented firearms designer, Shootist, and overall great guy. I was privileged to get to meet him.
