but I always need an angle to keep me interested. The .356 GNR is a cheap and easy way to get into Reeder custom cartridges and begin experimenting. Ditto the .41 GNR. Just find a doner .357 or .41 Mag and have it rechambered. The mighty .429 or .410 GNR can also be done on otherwise stock Redhawks, or Super Redhawks by rechambering the factory 6-shot cylinders. Since that platform is so big and beefy anyway. Those last two on a SA you'd need a 5-shot conversion.

The .356 GNR truly gives .357 Maximum performance in a standard frame chassis. I like 180 gr. bullets in mine at 1500-1550 fps. The .357 cylinder obviously adds versatility, I might just want to shoot some snake loads or something walking around. With 9mm being less than .22 WMR per (50) box by about 30% the economy is hard to beat. It really does it all except for the larger game.

I have a .401 GNR on a BH frame that also has a .40 S&W cylinder ($300 or so option). Again it really adds versatility for cheap pleasant shooting ammo. Many love the 10mm in a SA but I would be more inclined to go .38-40 WCF just because not many modern guns shoot it.
