I always try to keep something on the burner at Reeder's

It seems to be feast or famine, lately the latter more prevalent. Like Mr. Taffin says, in a year you will forget about the money and have a nice gun. Somehow by the Grace of God it all works out in the end.

I have been needing Nate or whomever is delegated to make me some custom grips for this Herters. The stock toy cap-gun quality grips are cracking inside and can't manage the even gentle recoil forces. I thought about having some black Micarta (Corian) grips made and the gripframe re-Chromexed. I know they can keep the original crisp lines along the bottom, they are some really odd looking, shaped grips but work. Germans, go figure. I hate to sacrifice them but I was thinking of having a couple cut off case heads glued in as medallions. ".401 Herters", maybe the left side an old .38-40, since I have an extra cylinder.

I also have a neat old M1910 Winchester in .401 WSL that I really enjoy playing with. It could use refinishing and they make keen customs seldom seen. It has nice wide flats that would do well for some scene engraving. I have a dogsled line pic that interests me, or maybe that Sasquatch! I'll get to it one day, maybe.

If you keep chipping away at it one day you get to make someone else very happy with interesting customs, in the end. LOL What else are you going to do with your money, pay bills?!
