Marlins. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the quality or functioning or value of the gun. A bunch of idiots started that crap when Marlin was bought out by the Freedom Group. Now every moron that owns a Marlin spouts that his gun has JM on it. JM was a proof mark that has been on Marlins for eons and the JM guns are no better than the current guns without the JM. The JM guns may be a bit smoother but that is because they have been used for years whereas the non-JM guns are new and still a bit stiff. But there is no difference in strength.
