I read some of the classics ... working on Marcus Aurelius "Meditations" ... just finished "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu ... also some of the old mystics such as "Revelations of Divine Love" by Lady Julian of Norwich.
For lighter reading I like the Longmire series of books ... the series of Bosch by Michael Connelly ... if you like reading about Africa "The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency" series by Alexander McCall Smith are well written and give you good insight into African life.
For humor try any of the books by Patrick McManus. Short stories .. always funny.
And get THE PASSION TRANSLATION of the New Testament with Psalms, Proverbs and Song of Solomon. Very readable and well done.
Stay away from screens as much as possible. See if you can interest her in reloading.
