Huey’s post down below. I’d find it interesting to hear. Mine was a beretta jetfire in 25acp. The jetfire struck my fancy and I still have it. Made up for lost time in a huge way too!!

12 Ga. at KMart with me standing beside him back in 1970. We went home, he taught me how the four cardinal rules of safety, then how to hold it, aim it, load it, unload it, clean it, and eventually shoot it. I still have it and always will.

My great grandfather used on his trapline when his eyesight got too bad for the .22, he had traded from my great uncle who bought it around WWII. Looks to be something of a copy of a Remington. Never have seen another or found any information on them. Lighter than my bb gun, kicks like a mule and shucks the shell clear over your shoulder!
Just sayin

As far as the WWII part, that comes from my 85 year old uncle that, as me and dad believe there is no one else alive to contest his facts along with his other stories.
Mine are a bit odd.

First gun was Mitchell Yugoslavian AK in .22 LR. Beautifully made gun that way outclasses the typical AK in fit and finish. I don't see many around today. The first handgun was a Husqvarna 7.5 Swedish Nagant revolver from a gun show. I just loved the strange little thing. It took me decades to find cartridges for it. (Its not the same chambering as the Russian version).

At 16 a few months later he took me to Woolworth's in downtown Nashville and downstairs in their sporting good department they had piles of old military 30-06 rifles. He said pick one out. I grabbed a blonde stock 30-06 that had been somewhat sporterized. When we got home he took the magazine out and told me "one shot per animal". That was what got me on the single shot kick way back then and forced me to be a better shot.
I think mine was
