Reeder Custom Guns - the first of a matching pair of Howdahs for Ron Orbeck

This one is a dual cylinder Howdah in 500 Maximum and 510 GNR. It is built on our own stretch frame. It has a 7" barrel with a brake added. It has our sight base with the red fiber optic blade. It has the Burris Fast Fire 3 mounted and is also drilled and tapped for a Leupold base. It has the barrel band front sight with the interchangeable blade base inserted. It has sling swivel studs on the barrel and bottom of the gripframe. It has the Magnum Gunfighter grip with a really nice set of Mongolian stag grips. It is finished in a satin vapor Honed stainless finish. It has his own serial number and is #10 of the series. A true custom gun built from the ground up.

That's not too horrible then, always heard the Linebaugh Long was pretty nasty and probably way more than I would want to deal with. Thanks

pretty rough. About a cylinder full at one sitting is all the fun I want. But with our brake and the Magnum gripframe on it it eases the recoil back quite a bit.

I'm sure those mods would help quite a bit, I've never been around one the .500 Max guns. You might think I'm crazy but I've got a .50 AE Freedom Arms field grade 7 1/2 inch that kicks harder than my .500 Linebaugh 5 1/2 inch Bisley. I don't understand it at all but it seems like the recoil is harder and sharper. I'm thinking about sending it to Magna-Port for the 4-port job. I also have a FA .475 premier grade 6 inch that doesn't kick as hard, maybe the Pachmayr grips are to blame I don't know!! I shoot factory loads in all of them.

any barrel? That might be a good option for an Ultimate 480.

Ruger is usually out of them and NECG has them from time to time, but neither has any in stainless. We got that one off a new Ruger #1 barrel in stainless. We are still trying to get another like it for Ron's second Howdah.
