Wind River movie

Last night Mom and I watched Wind River. I was really impressed with it because it seems that there is a lot of crappy drivel out these days.

So as I watched I like many others take a critical look at outdoor equipment and firearms used in the movie. I loved the fact that the main character used a Marlin 4570 and carried a Ruger SBH in the flick.

What intrigued me was some of the other stuff the character used. Notably the hunting pack used.

This prompts me to ask the members of this esteemed group, what pack, if you use one, do you have for hunting and back country use?

Myself, I have two tear drop fleece packs for hunting. One is camouflage for archery season and other hunting. Another is hunter orange for firearm season.

I was thinking of adding another pack to my stable of hunting equipment thus prompting the querry. I like my tear drops but would not mind something a tad bigger.

Military surplus Alice gear for me.

most used backpack by hunters in the world. I also have a larger Timber Hawk pack for a multi-day hunting trip, and a Cabela's Alaskan pack/freightframe plus an REI Crestrail 70 pack for normal non-hunting multi-day backpacking.

I'll second the super day pack.

Hollywood "academy" mostly because of its rather conservative viewpoints.

Small or Medium Alice Pack with an external frame.

I have a Terraplane and a Bomb Pack I got in the 90s. The Terraplane has been on week long backpacking trips in the Bitterroot Mountains in Montana. About 3 years ago I took it to Alaska for backcountry moose hunting. I packed in water and dried meals. The Bomb Pack has seen too many wLong weekend camping / rappelling trips to count.

I’ve added a new hunting pack from them to my line-up and it will go with me to Africa this year. They aren’t cheap but they are quality packs. Better materials than some.

When I do pack I only use a day
