Gary,Can the .321GNR be done on a Single Six? if so would it be a 5 shot or 6 shot cylinder ? Thanks

Due to the wide rim of the 357 Magnum case. Otherwise it would get into the transfer bar channel when opening the loading gate.

My 256 Winchester required a five shot cylinder. I'm sure all the same rules would apply since the same base case is used for both rounds.

If I'm wrong on any of this, Gary can correct me.

I highly recommend this conversion. No finer Trail Gun our there than my own Old Model build.

I have one more Old Model base gun hoarded back. I'm torn between the 321 GNR and the old 38-44 H.D. Special. I'll have to decide or find another base gun and build both.

ok on Blackhawk...on ss6 would it be a 5 shot or 6 shot cylinder...and would the 125 grn bullet from MBW work in that configuration? that is the main bullet I shoot in my ss6 H&R mags...Thanks

On bullets. The Trail Gun is limited to 1.6" and the Blackhawk closer to 1.8".

Far cheaper than the New Models. I'm just very careful to buy the adjustable sight models.

I really like the Trail Gun concept on the Single Six Frames. Gary and his crew just finished my 9th and I have several more planned.

Your 321 GNR could have auxiliary 30 Carbine, 32-20 and 327 Federal cylinders. There's just no end to the versatility.

the opening where the transfer bar runs up and down. The 321 GNR uses the 357 Magnum case which has a large rim and when we open up the loading gate recess we cut into that transfer bar recess. The old model is solid in that area with no transfer bar recess so it will work with the larger 357 Magnum rim.

I'm going to send in a Blackhawk to convert to 321. I think I'll go with Huey's suggestion also and get another cylinder, maybe 327 or 30 carbine.
