It reminds me of the times in Nazi Germany when the elite brain washed the masses into thinking that at a certain point, you have existence without life. At that point it should be ended for the greater good.

A woman, Leni Riefenstahl was a film maker who promoted euthanasia of the ill, the old, the infirm, the mentally ill and retarded. This led to one camp, Teresienstadt which specialized in the so called defective people of Germany. They would be sent there under doctors orders and a number of weeks later the family would get word their retarded child got sick and died in their sleep.
