6.5

I have someone near and dear to me. It is all about newer, faster and "that is what the latest issue of whatever states." He currently owns a small arsenal of 6.5 rifles, they are all custom built and very costly. They shoot amazing well and should given the price of each of them. I say good for him. I still use my 243, 30-06 and 300 Win Mag for 90% of my big game hunting. I shoot Nosler factory ammo with Accubonds for hunting and shoot the crap out of hand loads. In New mexico once he forgot his ammo on a deer hunt. He was shooting a Winchester short mag during that craze. Unable to find ammo, he bought a off the rack Ruger 77 in .270 with a 3-9 Leopold and was able to kill a really nice deer with it in NM. What i'm saying is sometimes staying with proven tradition is best. New is good, sometimes amazing but I still do get all the hype. Just my thoughts....
