We had a VERY good appt Thursday with Allie's liver surgeon !! He removed 25 percent of her liver from 2 different quadrants and ALL margins were clear of cancer cells SO NO follow up chemo needed at this time !, Allie was NOT looking forward to more chemo, we will meet with her medical oncologist next week and then there will likely order a PET scan and IF that is clear, then she will have scans every 3 months and blood work once a month , we are hoping they will re connect her ileostomy in early April (that would be a nice 42nd birthday present for her ) but they need to be sure the colon has healed completely and has no scar tissue in it's path, then the port will be surgically removed when they are sure it is time...this has been grueling past 14 months od 7 surgical procedure, many chemos, radiation, and TONS of Dr. Appts and there are a few hurdles yet to jump but, we are hopeful she is on the "home stretch" !!
