used a mop!"

Today we had to ready our classrooms and work areas for a big corporate inspection next week so after the last class I and a counselor partnered up to clean up the bathroom, classroom, meeting area and her office.

This nice young lady has a heart of gold. A master's degree in counseling and quite qualified.

It floored me when she said this was the first time she had every used a mop to clean up a floor. She had no clue how to operate it. I had to show her and she swabbed one side of the hallway.

Sorry people. I had to share this little story with all of you. It just boggles me that someone who is in their late 20's with an advanced degree is inept at a common task.

OMG!

They were stabbing and poking the earth! I had to have a class. Hold the handle firmly, use the foot to power the sharp nose into the dirt, lever the chunk of dirt.... They had NEVER been taught, seen anyone use one, or had a clue to give consideration how to operate the common shovel. Three of them now are pros!

Scary stuff.
