Took the stock and forend off my 1894 today with the plan of refinishing. The upper channel of the forend is cracked and looks bad. Based on the pics below I am assuming that I should try to find a new forend?![[image]](images/uploaded/201902082251045c5e07d8e2c45.jpg)

Previous owner did that, almost looks like he opened it up and laid down some epoxy. Free float a lever action barrel?

stick into the mag tube well to take the place of the tube. prep that sucker and Accra-glass it up. It will last forever. I'd not be that surprised if it was done at the factory or long, long ago. I've glass bedded air-rifles, muzzle loaders, pistols, it's great stuff. A little finesse can get the color tone close enough.

to both repair and bed rifles. Don't put it on anything that you don't want it on. It is impossible to get off!!! When bedding I used vasoline on the barrel and action after I had channeled the stock and then made a bed of accra glass. Worked great so I think you could fill in that hole/crack and it would be fine. If you have some wood that is close in color sand it and save the sawdust and put that in the accra glass to color it.
