The young son of missionaries was in the bush of Africa and heard a strange sound. Following it he came upon a young elephant that had a huge thorn in its foot and was obviously in pain.

He spoke softly to the elephant .. held his hands out in front of him and slowly moved closer. The young elephant was nervous but held still, perhaps sensing the young lad was only trying to help.

The boy was able to get the thorn out of the foot of the animal without too much trouble. When he finished he stood up and the elephant moved away from him, stopping once to look back and trumpet lightly before leaving.

Twenty years later that young man was in London at the zoo. As he approached the elephant enclosure one of the bulls kept eyeing him and raising his trunk as if sampling the air. He moved closer to the fence and the elephant did also, raising his trunk in his direction and acting excited.

The man climbed over the fence and slowly approached the elephant, holding his hands out in front of him. The elephant trumpeted excitedly and picked up the man with his trunk around the man's legs and beat him to death against the railing.

It wasn't the same elephant.

Lol.

I took her on the June 2017 hunt to RSA, so she fell for it hook, line and sinker, right up to the punchline.
