entire life...owned literally dozens of chevys and nothing else. Right now I have a 2004 Silverado 2500HD, a 2001 Corvette convertible....and a South Korean made 2009 chevy Aveo that I use for work. It's been the best, most reliable car I ever owned and with 227,000 miles on it and all I have replaced on this car was front and rear shocks and a battery....and the normal tires/brakes/oil changes. It never once broke down. I plan on putting at least 50K more miles on it as it still runs very well....and NO rust. Chevy trucks now, after only a few years the box and frame are rusty as hell, unbelievable. I am certainly glad Ford went to aluminum bodies and boxes on their trucks because that is my next new truck this summer. No more rusty chevy nonsense. Yes, this 2009 Aveo was built in a brand new plant that opened in 2007 in S. Korea. The factories and equipment are brand new and state of the art so the only issue then is training the employees on the manufacturing processes and quality control. People in every country on the planet have the same ability to learn. Seems GM has always gone thru periods where they just can't get their shit together..maybe they need to be bought out and restructured like Dodge/Chrysler was. Ford seems to be doing well though. Sure, I hate to see this too...I'm a GM guy at heart but sometimes people need to wake up and smell the coffee.
