They should last a long time. The quality is far beyond other Spanish firms such as Llama. It is sort of a smaller, all steel, 9mm version of the PD. I think the buffers that are needed in the .45 PD are not needed and add concerns to the 9mm. The buffers do not last forever, deteriorate, and can gum up the works at a bad time if not kept fresh. IMO

I like a 6-O'Clock hold, I like to see the bullet atop the front sight post, not under it. My European guns (FN and Star) seemed to hit to my desired POA with standard 9X19mm 147 gr. ammo. I like the 147 gr. JHP and this suites me just fine. My Beretta and Glock do not seem to care and shoot all of it to POA.

Just keep an extra factory mag for defense back-up and yo u are good to go. One outstanding feature is the ease of slide manipulation for those with weak hands.
