smaller framed Blackhawk but I would rather not build anything larger than the 45 Long Colt. The ratchet circle is smaller in diameter and that causes problems with the larger calibers, plus the cylinder is a bit shorter which also can be problematic. Your best bet would be one of the older Blackhawks or any of the Super Blackhawks, not the old model 3 screw guns, but the guns made between 1974 and around 2010 or so. I like to keep a bit of extra safety in our large caliber conversions and I don't feel all warm and fuzzy about the new flattop Blackhawks. Any new model Super Blackhawk is fine.
