bring their Sig 230s into the shop asking us to help the guns feed hollow points. We never could get them reliable with HPs. Our Sig factory rep, an older fellow who had been a rep for a lot of gun companies in the past, told me that the 230 was a European design and in Europe they were not allowed to use any hollow points, going back to the archaic Geneva Convention rule of no hollow points in war time. He said the guns just weren't designed for them. After he left it reminded me of the Colt 1911 and 1911-A1 that had somewhat the same problem. They were designed for ball ammo only as the Geneva Convention did not allow hollow points in war time guns. Which was an idiotic idea anyway as most of the countries we were fighting were not signees to the Geneva Convention anyway. The main difference in the Sig 230s and the 1911s was that the 1911 could be converted to shoot a hollow point, and in my experience the 230 couldn't. They may well have changed the design in the last couple of years since it's inception back in 1977. That I don't know. But just a mention for those with them. Don't be disappointed if the gun doesn't feed HPs. It wasn't meant to.

points. I have had 2 or 3 in with the customers complaining that they wouldn't feed hollow points. Whether that is something normal with this series of gun or coincidental, I have no idea. The predecessor to that model, which was supposed to be the competition of the Walther PPK/S, we never could get it to feed hollow points. So good luck.
