How come no one builds a 454 casual carbine or short rifle?
It's been done, not sure of current production.

anything the 454 will do at lower pressures, and won't beat you up either. I think he posted a new one either today or yesterday.

If you are going to have a #1 rebarreled, why not go to 460 S&W? It is lower pressure and faster. You can also get a Big Horn lever gun in 460 S&W. Not a big fan of either. Prefer 457 GNR, but that is more complicated.
Casual?? There is not a damn thing casual about a 454 Casull

The 454 Casull operates at an extreme high pressure, between 60,000 and 72,000 units of pressure and very few rifles will handle that kind of pressure long. The Rossi Puma is chambered in the 454. It had some early problems but got them taken care of. But that is the only non custom lever gun I know of in 454 Casull.

sorry, that's what automatic spell check does. I have a S&W in .460 and it made me step back when shooting the .460 cartridge. I am ok with the 454 though, and I also have the 454 Pistol you made for me. I have the encore 454 pistol you made as well. I adapted a stock to it, for disabled vets, and I have the Scoped Ruger #1 you made in 45-70 as well, but I would like a carbine like short rifle ! I am getting on in age and am hitting my bucket list faster as I play out my last quarter!
One of my early Reeder Revolvers is a 454 Casull...

Gary gives the cartridge Hell, but sure builds a good one. To this day it's my favorite of my 24 Reeder builds.
I'm pushing for a Ruger #1 in 454 Casull...
