the time. As i mentioned somewhere on here, we went on hunts about every 8 weeks, most to Tellico junction, but some to Montana, Utah, some to Alaska, some to Canada, in '92 we started going to Africa, and so on. This past Africa hunt was our 82 handgun hunt since 1987. And I probably used different guns on most of them. The late 80s and early 90s were a boon for handgun hunters. We had so many new hunting handguns coming out and Kase, Colleen and I tried them all.Unfortunately cameras were big and bulky back then so my pictures of the game and guns are scarce.

I developed the 41 GNR in late 1978 so it was in use during that time, still in the 14" length in this pic

Later I whacked it to 9". And I use that same barrel today. I couldn't put the critters that little 41 GNR has taken in a large semi trailer truck.
I used a lot of TCs during those early years, in 30 Herrett and 357 Herrett and a couple of Lee Jurras' new Howdahs, one in 460 Jurras and this one in 375 Jurras.

And our new 416 GNR on this Scimitar Horned Oryx.

but I also had my Auto Mags in 357 Auto Mag, 41 Auto Mag which was my favorite, and the 44 Auto Mag,


I even took a brace of turkeys in an afternoon hunt.




there were a lot of whitetail and a couple of bison that I don't have pics of.

My Grizzlys were in 45 Win Mag and 44 Mag. The 45 was my favorite,like this Persian Ibex

and this Nilgai bull.

I even used a couple of Coonan 357 mags but wasn't satisfied with their performance on game.

Revolvers? I used a bunch. My S&W Model 29 in 44 Magnum was my favorite and later on in Montana I used my new Model 629 in 44 Magnum.

And in Colville Washington for a bear

. The Model 57 in 41 mag that we rechambered to 41 GNR was a favorite too. I tried several Dan Wessons, the 375 Super Mag and the 445 Super Mag were my favorites. Seth Wesson kept me occupied with the new models. My favorite was the early Alaskan Guide model, serial number 6, which like a village idiot I sold to a friend who pestered me until I gave in and sold it to him. I took an Australian Water Buffalo with it.

I actually used a rifle from time to time. Mostly in Canada where handguns were not allowed.Like this Caribou with my custom Ruger #1 in 45-70.

I always took a bunch of friends with me on these hunts.

And they were as neat as I was..

Flying in on a float plane was a nice experience..

and hunting just north of the Arctic Circle was a great experience too in a do it yourself tented camp..

Thru the years Kase, Colleen and I have used just about every hunting handgun known to man. Kase loved the rifles I think more than the handguns. He used a Browning BAR in 416 Taylor on this big hog.

Kase would shoot just about anything that sat still long enough..

Colleen is just as good with a handgun as she is a rifle, just whichever suits her fancy at the time. Her favorite rifle in Africa was her 300 Win Mag Colt Sauer..but our guns got there late so she borrowed a 270 and used it on a couple of critters.

But she used either her Colt 300 Win Mag or her Ruger #1 in 30-06 for the rest of the hunt.

On a buffalo hunt in South Dakota she used her 458 for a one shot kill

But her favorite handgun at the time was the 7 GNR..

In her Africa hunt in about a month she will have her Colt in 300 Win Mag, the 458 I built for her and a handgun in 310 GNR.

So to answer your questions the whole Reeder clan has and does use a lot of guns, not just Dan Wesson Super mags.
