Using a red dot does it matter which eye you use to view it

? The reason I ask is I have a red dot scope I could put on the MKII but using my dominant eye, which is near sighted causes the dot to flare. My left non-dominant eye has had cataract surgery and got the long distance lens which is fine. I could wear glasses but I almost never do anymore. I find glasses to be a huge annoyance. I think I am ok using the left eye to sight through on a dot scope? Thanks for your comments

When using red dots or halographic, both eyes should be open

No, it is parallax free, typically, at only 1.3X

I am one of the worst fated with the cross eye dominance thing. I'm right handed, but my lazy eye is also on that side. The brain turns it off and I use my left. For any handgun scope actually. I battle for left/right using iron sights and want to use my right but the left is so much better. I manage though, I'm just not fast.

In my personal experience on a red dot type sight it makes no matter on which eye you use.
