Does anyone know what type of scope rings were used on the Colt Python Hunter? The scope rings clamped to the vent rib. I'm also curious if the scope rings did a good job in handling recoil without slipping. I just saw a Python Hunter last week in a gun shop. I was amazed how slim and trm the scope rings were. I've been thinking of purchasing a set of rings for my Python. I'd rather not drill and tap it.Burris made mounts and rings that clamp to the vent rib, but they are really big and clunky looking.

the scope was mounted at the factory and they used Redfield

rings. They were sleek but had that big round screw knob on the side that I didn't care for.

Thank you for the reply.

I can remember a friend had one. I remember making very thin rubber shims for the rings and lock tightening all fasteners.
Up until he was stationed elsewhere and losing track of him he didn't have a problem with the scope or rings. Think he is in Arizona. He lives by another friend who works in Pheonix on aircraft. Sucker left with 500 once fired Remington 44 mag brass I was saving until I had the money to buy reloading equipment. He had reload stuff. Give me a good reason to visit. LOL
