Interesting little test today... CCW 9mm's

A good friend wanted a 9mm to replace his G19 that is now gone. He wanted something a little smaller but not as thick. His favorite feeling gun was the 9mm Shield. Who am I to tell him what to like?!

We went to the LGS and range. Bought a box of 9mm for $17 and rented two guns for $10 each, a M&P Shield and a SIG 365 for me. Later we came out and swapped the 365 for a Glock 43 ($5 more). In all for our (3) gun (50) round shared range run in 30 minutes, we were all in for $60 inc. tax. It was really fun for a couple old buddies. Both of us old dogs bitched we couldn't see with our glasses. I looked through my bi-focals on the sights and let the target blur. With all the guns I kept all my shots in about 3" at 15 yds. Ric did a little worse as he got the feel of the different platforms. He still likes the M&P and ordered one at a discount.

I did not shoot it, coon fingered it heavily, but I gravely desire a G43X now. It is a G43 but a 1/2" longer grip and holds 10 rounds. Plus some other subtle features. The SIG shot OK but I did not like it. The mag was stiff and I had two fail to fully return to battery. But it was a brand new gun too so I give it that. I just like the simplicity of the little Glock better and I know/trust it's inner workings.
